French Learning Log - agreement

 

Rule: Often French matches adjectives and nouns in number.  

French  - Il est important de respecter leurs conseils.

English - It is important to respect their advice.

Reflection: If the advice is plural (as in pieces of advice), the pronoun next to it needs to be plural as well.  It's a bit like writing "theirs (pieces of) advice(s).  If you omit, it comes across as "broken French".
