Italian Learning Log - word order

Rule: Often Italian puts the adjective after the noun. eg. la penna rossa (literally- the pen red)

Italian  - L'insetto รจ lungo un centimetro.  (The insect is long a centimetre)

English - The  insect is a centimetre long.

Reflection: Perhaps, it is because of emphasis of the subject. The length is the point/subject of the sentence. Perhaps, the length is that particular measurement in centimetres.
